Step into 'A Softer World' this Milan Design Week 2026, as STEPEVI presents an immersive installation by Swedish textile artist Alfhild Külper to mark the unveiling of the new Caresse rug collection.
The installation brings together shared ideas of craft, emotional design, and conscious material use.
A Softer World reflects the inner places we retreat to for comfort and grounding. It explores the moments, memories, and sensations that make us feel safe, warm, and secure, translating them into a tactile, immersive environment.
Created from leftover yarns from the Caresse collection, the installation will give new life to materials that might otherwise remain unseen.
Visitors will be invited to actively take part in shaping the evolving work under Alfhild Külper’s guidance, contributing their own memories and emotions through colour and textile.
With spatial support from long-time collaborator Carolina Nisivoccia, the showroom will become an immersive setting for the design community to explore the collaboration in person.
